I have a love/hate relationship with legs. They are always the most draining to train but the most rewarding. I have had some request for killer LEG workouts! OK, maybe the word "killer" wasn't their EXACT words....
Too often than not, people neglect working out their leg muscles OR miss training all the muscles down there. I love to split my leg workouts into 2 workouts throughout the week. One day I will do hamstrings and another day quad and glutes. The workout listed below is great for shaping the legs, burning fat, increasing muscle and great for cardio!! Leg workouts can really get your heart rate pumping due to the distance the blood and oxygen have to travel through the body! Try my sample QUAD workout below for a challenge!
QUAD DAY WORKOUT!
**Every exercises is supersetted with the exercise next to it. 3 sets of everything with 10-15 reps.**
-Front squats with barbell (good form!) superset with step ups on the bench with dumbbells
-Hack squat machine with toes rotated outward slightly superset with alternating lunges with barbell
-Walking lunges with dumbbells superset with step DOWNS on a SMALL step while staying on balls of your toes- the entire time! If done right, this will kill.
-Finish with 4 sets of leg extensions on machine and jump squats for 40 seconds in between sets. Burnout!
15 minutes of interval sprints on treadmill OR stairmaster. 30 seconds as fast as you can go with 30 second recovery!
READY. SET. GO!
Try this workout on for size and really focus on WHICH muscles you are training! Don't just "do legs.",
