Are you eating as healthy as possible? Maybe you think you are eating healthy but is it the best you can do? Did you know that fueling your body properly can increase your energy levels, optimize your daily performance, increase your moods, and do your body good not only outside but inside as well? Check this sample meal plan and make sure you are getting the MOST out of nutrition.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again, eat six small meals a day. It really does keep you feeling satisfied, prevents overeating, and keeps your energy level steady.
Take a look at my sample meal plan and try and incorporate some of it into your daily diet. Don't forget to add in A LOT of water throughout your day. I drink at least 1-2 water bottles with every meal (some might call me a fish).
Ezekiel bread (or ezekiel english muffin)
4-5 egg whites
1 egg yolk
fist size of brown rice
4-5 egg whites or fish
2 cups of veggies
palm size serving of chicken or lean turkey 99% fat free
1 fist size of sweet potatoes (I like to bake mine into fries and put cinnamon on it)
1 tbsp of olive oil
1 scoop of protein powder (I love gold standard- cookies and cream)
1 small handful of almonds
1 piece of fruit (grapefruit is great and is a "negative" calorie food)
1 scoop of protein powder (or substitute for another protein source)
2 handfuls of fresh berries (blend with protein powder for awesome smoothie)
1-2 tsbp of almond butter (yum)
Egg whites or another source of protein (cottage cheese/chicken/turkey etc)
1-2 tsp of olive oil
3-4 cups of veggies
This is just a sample of what a clean eating diet would look like. Everyone is different and requires different macronutrients (proteins/fats/carbs). This is a pretty well balanced diet that has a higher carb intake earlier in the day. If you are pretty active or get your workout in later in the day, I would move your carbs to cushion your workout.
