Not every body type is created equal and therefore they shouldn't be treated equally. Learn your body type and understand how to work with it!
Have you ever heard someone say, eat right for you're type? Well it is true. Every body is different and all require different meal plans and training programs.
The 3 different body types are Endomorph, Ectomorph and Mesomorph.
- Typically are have a shorter build
- Hold onto fat easily
- Difficult time loosing fat
- Slower metabolism
-Gain muscle easily
Endomorphs typically work very hard to loose weight and usually it happens at a slow rate. Endomorphs are more prone to carbohydrate sensitivity and insulin resistance. This type of body type will usually do better with a lower carbohydrate intake and a higher protein and fat intake. Since this body type seems to be the most sensitive to food, they must be very conscious of their diet. These body types don't seem to be as "forgiving" as the others with "slip ups" or "cheats" A diet that follows moderation, structure and proper macro nutrients will make it successful for weight loss and attainable for life.
-Difficult gaining muscle
- Harder to gain weight
Ectomorphs have a harder time putting on mass. They need to constantly be eating calories in order to try and put on mass. They can eat "junk" and not have to worry about putting on weight like an endomorph would. Ectomorphs need to be careful that they aren't underweight with high body fat percentage ("skinny fat") as it can be problematic for this type. To increase shape and muscle, ectomorphs should do resistance training and eat nutrient dense foods... and a lot of it!
- Naturally lean and muscular
-Wider shoulders than hips
-Loose fat without a lot of work
-Body responds well to resistance and cardio training
Mesomorphs are genetically ahead of the game as they are typically athletically built. These body types can put on muscle very easily and respond well to physical challenges. However, mesomorphs can put on body fat easily so they must watch their caloric intake.
